Things I Found – Outline Edition
Welcome to Things I Found, a celebration of the random, the interesting, the useful, the informative, the beautiful, the sometimes difficult - and everything in between.
Hello,
Welcome to Things I Found, a newsletter that celebrates the random, the interesting, the useful, the informative, the beautiful, the sometimes difficult - and everything in between. There is no periodicity about this. Because amongst all our efforts to create order, it’s often the random that gives us the most.
New here? Welcome. I’ve been told is good practice to add a subscribe button right at the beginning. You know. You know. And buttons are meant to be clicked, so do it.
Ok, good? Let’s go.
The thing
Outline - a tool originally meant to clear away the clutter, but whose real value comes from getting behind paywalls.
I found this…
Really useful. (Cue to Riri)
Why?
As much as we might subscribe to and pay for publications, or have that friend’s login, or work access to some paid content, there is inevitably a point in the research process (or simple life curiosity) where we stumble upon information that is either hidden in an overpowering clutter or behind a paywall (that doesn’t make sense to pay for).
Outline is a great solution to that.
Not only it gives you access to that completely vital piece of information you could simply not live without, it also strips away all the fucking unnecessary noise around the actual content, making it clean, easy to read. And if the original website is coded properly, the relevant images will be kept, too.
Use it at your discretion.
How it was found
Ha. Well, on Whatsapp group with a bunch of smart, talented, hardworking humans who all at some point worked at the same start up, and still keep in touch (and I feel lucky to be part of this part banter, part information sharing space).
That’s it.
Have a fantastic weekend & until the next one.
Much care,
