Things I Found – The Blob Opera Edition
Welcome to Things I Found, a celebration of the random, the interesting, the useful, the informative, the beautiful, the sometimes difficult - and everything in between.
Hello,
Welcome (back) to Things I Found, a newsletter that celebrates the random, the interesting, the useful, the informative, the beautiful, the funny, the sometimes difficult - and everything in between.
It’s been a while since the last one. But the deal here was always to add a bit of randomness with the periodicity anyway.
So, thanks for sticking around.
I hope this brings you a little smile, and a breath of fresh air in your inbox amidst the flood of end of year reviews. This is probably the last one of this year (and what a year), but will not contain a recap! Still, I’d like to thank all of you who believed in this enough to subscribe. You da best.
Now, let’s go!

The thing I found
Google Arts & Culture’s Blob Opera.
I found this…
Adorable, funny, mesmerising.
Why?
It’s silly - just the little break from reality some of us really need right now. And as a project, it’s incredibly well done. It made me not only want to play with it but admire the ease of use, the interface, the sound design, what took to make it (it, of course, being Google, involves machine learning. And 16 hours of recording), the small details, and the name!
How was it found?
A friend shared on Facebook, with the caption “stop what you’re doing and open this link urgently. Thank me later”. I have.
That’s it. Have a good week, a truly lovely break, a new year full of achieved hopes.
Much care,
